Jubilation rocked Narok County as residents welcome the former Prime Minister to Ole Ntimama Stadium. In his stronghold, Raila Odinga was handed a rare gift from one of his supporters – a sketch of the statehouse.
A resident of Narok County gifted Raila Odinga and his running mate Martha Karua with the Statehouse. The duo were addressing a huge crowd of supporters at the Ole Ntimama Stadium in Narok County. As the ODM leader took to the stage to speak, he was handed a sketch of the Statehouse as a symbol of victory in the August 9 elections.
The sketch resembled the statehouse in many aspects, including a flag of Kenya at the top. It also had replica of the white walls, and maroon roof that is synonymous of the actual Statehouse.
Raila Odinga and Martha Karua led the Azimio la Umoja in a campaign tour of Narok to woo the Maa nation. The key message of the leaders was clear – to deal with corruption in the country once and for all.
Those who attended include Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu, Narok senator Ledama Ole Kina, and former Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth.
The leaders present accused the Kenya Kwanza team of harbouring corrupt leaders. They argue that the leadership of Baba and Mama is the best because the two leaders are free of any corruption allegations.
However, critics say that Raila’s obsession with rallies might be his major undoing. Raila has been in Narok for the past two days, while Ruto has traversed Murang’a, Nyeri, Uasin Gishu, and Nakuru within the same period.
Is it a miss or a strategy to cut slow and deep? Time will tell.
