Kilifi County Economic Forum: DP Ruto Promises to Settle Historical Land Issues at the Coast

Kilifi County Economic Forum

The Deputy President William Ruto has taken his campaigns to the Coast Province as he seeks to intrude on Hassan Joho’s perceived political stronghold.

He led the Kenya Kwanza County Economic Forum in Kilifi County to collect the people’s views on issues affecting the county. The Kenya Kwanza leaders have been holding County economic forums across the county to identify key economic issues affecting the locals. These forums will culminate in an economic charter that will be signed between the coalition and counties.

The Kilifi County Economic Forum held in Karisa Maitha Grounds, Kilifi Town, brought together grassroot leaders, opinion-shapers, small traders, and other figures who raised their issues and priorities. Some of the key issues that came up in the forum include agriculture, jobs, land, and port operations.

Unlike most other economic forums held in other counties, the clergy played a significant role in the Kilifi County Economic Forum. Particularly, the Kenya Kwanza team sought to build consensus with the clergy in Kilifi as they met the Deputy President and his economic to give their views.

William Ruto fellowshipped with the clergy from Kilifi County led by Bishop Thomas Kakala of Malindi Jesus Celebration Centre at Mnarani, Kilifi North Constituency. He promised to deal with historical land injustices at the coast, take back port services to the region, boost agriculture, and create jobs through deliberate action.

As Ruto led the Kenya Kwanza team in Kilifi, Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula carried out their door-to-door, market-to-market, and town-to-town campaigns in Busia and Bungoma.
