CS Kithure Kindiki Launches a New Sub County in Meru County

Interior CS Kithure Kindiki today presided over the official operationalization of Igoji Sub-County in Meru County.
The new sub county was formed under the leadership of Kindiki to take services closer to the people. At the same time, a new office for the Deputy County Commissioner (DCC) was opened in the new sub-county, which will have the following postal address:

  • Igoji Sub-County, P.O. Box 48-604, Igoji.

Residents of Meru County could not hide their joy after the launch, seeing the new development as a step forward under government of Kenya Kwanza led by His Excellency the President, William Ruto.
Speaking in an interview with KBC, one of the residents Caxton Muingi thanked the government for giving them a new sub-county.

“It has been a struggle for the people of South Imenti calling for three sub-counties, and the government has now heard our plea by giving us a new sub-county,” he said.

Another resident commented that the new sub-county will lead to the employment of more youth in the area.
“We will now be footing down to Igoji to see our DCC and get the services we need faster,” said Marion Kinya, another resident of Igoji.

Igoji Sub-County is one of the three new proposed sub-counties in Imenti South, which are expected to bring services closer to residents and create more opportunities for employment.
